Yes folks!
You well? Been a while.
It’s time for another edition of JMFLENDDAS, the newsletter that promises more than it delivers.
Let’s see what scraped through quality control in the last few months shall well?
February
In which I shared a private demo of a typical songwriting session, complete with no small amount of nonsense and a rant about how many singer-songwriters wear hats. This was partly an attempt to step into a riskier space with this newsletter, not just sharing finished product but showing my workings out.
For paid subscribers. On a similar subject, this was an idea for a new song I’ve been working on.
March
A deep dive into the secret world of the setlist. Hidden in plain sight, they have the power to shape a gig more than many people realise.
Track the journey of this song from initial demo, through various album recording sessions to the final version on Some Things Are Like Other Things. Also featuring the penultimate live video in my live album series.
For paid subscribers, a piano version of Keep Me Around.
An update from the road, plus details of a new single release - Keep Me Around (urchin).
April
Releasing a new free Bandcamp album featuring songs I’ve shared in this newsletter in 2022.
*A big plug for my Bristol show*
Sunday 21st May - The Louisiana, Bristol. Tickets here.
Please do get some tickets to this. Share if you can. Other live dates here.
Thanks so much for reading, do please leave a comment, and I’ll see you next time!
