You may have noticed, perhaps fighting back the tears as yet another Friday slips away, that your inbox has been decidedly empty these past few weeks.
You check it each morning, hoping that an email awaits, but no. Nothing. It’s a silent wasteland. You consider for a moment subscribing to other newsletters, emailing friends or family, perhaps ordering a new kettle. Anything for that little ‘1’ notification. But of course that would be an unforgivable betrayal of me, and your heart flinches at the very thought.
It’s good to have some time to write again. Some mitigating factors for the delay include Being On Tour, Having Another Job and Being The Kind Of Heroic Modern Dad Who Looks After His Kid In The Easter Holidays.
Still, I am feeling a little sheepish here. Baaaaaa.
Well over a thousand people have now come to see my Some Things Are Like Other Things tour. That’s pretty cool I think. Huge appreciation to each and every one of you who are part of that. It’s been an incredible experience so far, with a few final dates remaining. You can find a list further down.
To business!
Some folks, and I know this is hard to believe, prefer their music in albums rather than emails. I know, weird right?
Being the multi-channel digital entrepreneur that I am, I know that JMFLEN will never attract those venture capitalists billions with emails alone. I need to meet the customer wherever they are, maximise my presence in every currency, every territory, every marketplace. Apart from Tik-Tok, I can’t be dealing with Tik-Tok.
Riffling through the 48 emails I sent last year I have assembled the choicest cuts into an album - Songs From My Newsletter Vol. 1. After weeks of data-analysis and market research, I put the tracks in order of when they were released.
It’s free. Digital only, on Bandcamp.

There is also an option to Pay What You Want. Personally I abhor handling money and strongly discourage you from sending me any, but alas there’s always a vocal minority dead set on undermining my famously loss-making credentials. I’d fight them further on this but simply don’t have the financial resources right now. So if you’re able to offer a donation towards this campaign it would be a tremendous help.
