Listened to the feels like healing podcast which was a real treasure. So nice to hear what a passion project this email thread has become! It feels like an almost musical book club and is appreciated.
In terms of your questions, I think we all surely must get sucked in. If I manage to notice I usually delete the said apps and only have them on my laptop, kinda how I do my veganism. I'm allowed meat but only consciously, don't have it in the house - have to seek it out = don't have the app on my phone - have to seek it out on my laptop!
At the macro level when you have billions of dollars on one side of the screen and a regular joe on the other, there's often only one winner. The side with billions dollars gets what they want.
Making mindful choices is a superpower. Love expanding that out to food and other things. Good for you! Although when you say usually, it does sound a bit like you go between deleting and adding them back...?
Yeah I do. Usually if I need them for a valid reason. I usually can keep the healthy balance but then I might have an off day and slip back and the habit rears it’s head again so back to the delete!
